Elijah Blue Allman Seeks Lower Spousal Payments, Says Cher Cut Off Funds in 2021

The move follows a judge’s April denial of Cher’s request for a temporary conservator.

Overview

  • Allman asked a Los Angeles court in a May 5 filing to reduce the $6,500 he pays each month to estranged wife Marieangela King, saying his mother ended recurring gifts in August 2021.
  • He told the court his only steady income is $10,000 a month from Gregg Allman’s trust, which he says nets about $6,790 after taxes and leaves little once the support order is paid.
  • His lawyers proposed cutting the payment to $1,651 and argued the original order was entered without proper notice after papers were sent to Cher’s Malibu address instead of his temporary residence.
  • A probate judge last month rejected Cher’s emergency bid to install a temporary financial conservator, which she sought while arguing her son is unable to manage money because of addiction and mental-health issues.
  • Allman remains in a New Hampshire psychiatric facility following recent arrests there, and the next hearing on the spousal-support issue is set for July 17.
