- Emergency responders recovered a man's body Tuesday from the Fox River near the dam by the 100 block of North Center Street in South Elgin.
- An autopsy by the Kane County Coroner identified the victim as Ulises "Miguel" Segura Dorantes, 53.

- Segura Dorantes was reported missing in late November 2025, and police say he was last seen near National Street in Elgin before dawn on Nov. 26.
- Elgin police are leading the investigation after extensive searches using K-9 teams, drones, and sonar, and they reported finding his phone and other belongings near the National Street bridge in January.
