Eintracht Rehires Adi Hütter on Three-Year Deal

The club says the appointment is meant to restore stability as it rebuilds toward a return to European competition.

Adi Huetter, pictured here during his time with Monaco, will coach Eintracht Frankfurt for a second time.

Overview

  • Eintracht announced on May 31 that Adi Hütter will return as head coach and will take charge on July 1, 2026 under a three-year contract that runs to June 30, 2029.
  • Hütter replaces Albert Riera, who left by mutual agreement after a short, turbulent spell that followed Eintracht’s eighth-place finish last season.
  • Sporting director Markus Krösche said Hütter mixes fast transitional attacking play with possession work and that his knowledge of the club will remove the need for a long settling-in period.
  • Hütter coached Eintracht from 2018 to 2021, leading them to a Europa League semifinal, and he also won domestic titles with Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys Bern.
  • The club frames the hire as a medium-term project to stabilise the team, accelerate youth development, and push Eintracht back into European competition.
