Eight Arrested After 3.2-Tonne Cocaine Haul Found in Dutch Press Container

Port police uncovered the load through days of surveillance of a Klundert warehouse.

  • Authorities seized a total of 3,223 kilograms of cocaine linked to a warehouse on Nijverheidsstraat in Klundert.
  • Police found 688 kilograms in a van stopped in Papendrecht along with a firearm, arresting a 29-year-old from Bilthoven and a 45-year-old from Barcelona.
  • The remaining 2,535 kilograms were concealed in multiple sealed spaces inside a press container that was moved to the Maasvlakte for demontage with Customs.
  • Eight suspects were detained across Klundert, Bergen op Zoom, Dordrecht and Rotterdam, and a second firearm was seized in the warehouse.
  • Local reporting put the street value near €150 million while noting much lower wholesale prices and a limited impact on user prices.
