EFL Publishes First Wave Of Live TV Fixtures For 2026/27 Season

The release fixes ITV and Sky channel assignments with firm deadlines that will govern further televised selections for the rest of the season.

Overview

  • The EFL published the initial TV schedule, which was released Tuesday, August 11, 2026, listing live Championship, League One and League Two matches through the start of January and confirming ITV and Sky as the rights holders.
  • Sky will show selected matches on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Ultra rather than Sky Sports Plus while ITV games will appear on ITV1 and STV and both broadcasters will stream via Sky/Now TV and ITVX.
  • The league set a timetable for future picks that requires fixtures up to the midweek of March 2–3, 2027, to be announced by November 6, 2026, with the weekend of March 5–8 confirmed by February 5, 2027, then moving to rolling multi‑week announcements four weeks in advance.
  • ITV will broadcast a weekly EFL highlights show at 21:00 on ITV4 with repeats and 30‑day availability on ITVX while Sky also offers match highlights and live access through Now TV day and monthly passes.
  • The staged selection model affects supporters’ planning and club exposure by changing when fans know which games are live, by which channel they can watch, and by altering commercial scheduling for clubs and broadcasters.
