- Oilers Entertainment Group’s Ice District Summer SolstICE program has a packed August schedule that includes the Ice District Classic ball hockey tournament (three-on-three, more than 500 youth players), Every Kid Deserves a Shot community day, Hoop City 3×3 youth basketball and the Pride Cup ball hockey event.
- Boots and Hearts — traditionally a large camping country-music festival — will run an urban edition in the Ice District Aug. 7–9 with headliners Shaboozey and Russell Dickerson, marking the festival’s largest expansion into Western Canada.
