EDF Revives Sunday Saver for May With Up to 64 Hours of Free Power

The smart‑meter scheme rewards households for shifting use out of 4–7pm on weekdays.

Overview

  • Registration is open now and closes 11:59pm Friday, May 3, with the May challenge starting Sunday, May 4.
  • Households earn between four and 16 free hours each Sunday by cutting weekday use in the 4–7pm peak, with a monthly maximum of 64 hours.
  • Earned free electricity is available on May 17, May 24, May 31 and June 7.
  • Participation requires a working smart meter that sends half‑hourly readings to EDF.
  • EDF is also promoting its FreePhase tariff, which granted customers 37 free hours in the past two weeks when renewable output exceeded demand.
