Overview
- On June 16, the Enforcement Directorate reported provisional attachments totalling about Rs 4.47 crore across two separate Bhopal cases: roughly Rs 1.47 crore linked to clerk Hero Keswani and about Rs 3 crore tied to Jayshri Gayatri Food Products Pvt. Ltd.
- The Keswani probe, opened from an EOW FIR, found assets about 286.27% higher than his lawful income for 2005–2022 and uncovered Rs 86.73 lakh in unexplained cash during searches.
- ED alleges proceeds in the Keswani matter were routed into family names, including his wife who reportedly has no verifiable independent income, and the agency has provisionally attached properties, bank balances and cash to prevent dissipation.
- In the corporate case, ED says JGFPL used forged laboratory reports to secure export health certificates, diverted dairy stock through related entities with fictitious invoices, and has arrested managing director Kishan Modi and former CEO Sunil Kumar Tripathi who remain in judicial custody.
- Investigations in both matters are continuing as ED traces bank transactions and related entities, with the agency already filing a PMLA prosecution complaint in the JGFPL case and seeking recovery of further alleged proceeds.
