ED Attaches Rs 3 Crore in Goa Properties in Myron Rodrigues Money-Laundering Probe
The move lifts total attachments to about Rs 5.98 crore in a case built on FIRs alleging cheating.
Overview
- The Panaji zonal office issued the February 18 provisional attachment under the PMLA against immovable properties in Goa worth Rs 3 crore.
- This is the second attachment in the case, taking the cumulative value to about Rs 5.98 crore after a Rs 2.98 crore order on November 25, 2024.
- The money-laundering probe stems from FIRs by the Economic Offences Cell in North Goa and Mumbai’s MHB Colony police under IPC Sections 406 and 420.
- Investigators say Rodrigues and associates promised assured returns, induced transfers via RTGS and NEFT, then retained and diverted funds for personal use and asset purchases.
- The ED says it has identified roughly Rs 14.82 crore in alleged proceeds routed into deposits, fixed deposits and properties, and further investigation is underway.
