Overview
- European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) outputs reported by Meteored show a strong polar air mass moving into northern and central Argentina this week and the maps suggest unusually low June temperatures that could include frosts.
- Models project a deepening low-pressure center to form over eastern Argentina mid-week; that cyclogenesis is expected to act as a moisture magnet for Entre Ríos, Corrientes and Santa Fe and to produce precipitation well above normal in those provinces.
- Argentina’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) confirmed cool, stable conditions for the City of Buenos Aires and its suburbs on June 16 while warning that conditions will change as the low develops.
- Mexico’s Conagua warned of a separate, short-term severe event for Nuevo León for June 17, forecasting very heavy convective rains of 75–150 mm, hail, strong gusts and daytime highs to 35–40°C with flood and landslide risk in affected areas.
- Spain’s AEMET municipal bulletins for Galicia show mostly dry, warm weather on June 16–17 but with isolated afternoon shower or storm chances in some towns, and forecasters urge the public to monitor national services because rainfall placement and intensity remain model-sensitive.
