Overview
- Digital time vouchers were delivered via the Election Commission’s IT platform to recognised national and state parties in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
- Each party receives 45 minutes of free time on both Doordarshan and All India Radio, distributed across the relevant regional networks in the State or Union Territory.
- Additional airtime is awarded according to parties’ performance in the previous assembly elections in the respective jurisdiction.
- The broadcast window runs from publication of the list of contesting candidates in each phase until two days before polling, with slots set by a State/UT-level draw in the presence of party representatives and CEO officials.
- Parties must submit transcripts and recordings in advance that meet Prasar Bharati technical standards, and Prasar Bharati will host up to two moderated panel discussions with one representative per eligible party.
