  • A group riding electric bikes and a quad bike targeted a black Hyundai in the Tesco car park on Monday, the quad drove at the vehicle and witnesses say occupants were dragged from the car and assaulted.
  • The woman driving the Hyundai was pulled out and punched in the face while two men were stabbed in the abdomen and side and taken to hospital with injuries described by police as not life threatening.
  • North East Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic and a clinical team leader to the scene and transported the two injured patients to hospital.
  • Detectives from Cleveland Police have opened an investigation, issued reference numbers 148971/SE26148971 and SE26148971, and are urging anyone with footage or information to contact 101; no arrests have been reported.
  • A police cordon sealed the Tesco car park overnight and was lifted the following morning with the store reopening, and officers say public footage may be key to identifying the suspects and reconstructing their route away from the scene.
