Overview
- A 44-year-old Swiss tourist, who called Traunstein dispatch around 5 p.m. Friday, was found stuck in snow on the Fuderheuberg near Bad Reichenhall.
- The Traunstein rescue helicopter Christoph 14 could not land in the steep gully, so a mountain rescuer was lowered by winch and both were flown to the valley.
- Crews located the man about 200 vertical meters below the Fuderheustein cross, completed the 90-minute mission with eight rescuers, and released him to relatives without injuries.
- In Salzburg, fog blocked a hoist on the Untersberg on Saturday, so rescuers used the cable car, descended to a soaked student, provided dry clothing, and guided her below the cloud for pickup.
- In Tyrol the same day, a police helicopter lifted three young men by rope near the Plansee after they lost the marked trail in hip-deep snow, and all were unhurt.
