Overview
- Early voting runs through March 31 at six Harris County–run sites, generally open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday–Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
- Election Day is April 4 for the District C vacancy covering the Heights, Montrose and Meyerland.
- The race was triggered by Texas’ resign-to-run rule after Abbie Kamin sought the Harris County Attorney post, a Democratic primary she won.
- Seven candidates are on the ballot in the deep-blue district, and Kamin has not announced an endorsement in the contest.
- If no candidate secures a majority, the race moves to a runoff, which would extend a stretch of frequent elections for many District C voters.
