Overview
- Police responded around 6 a.m. Sunday to reports of a shooting outside a motorcycle club on the 1700 block of Berry Boulevard and initially found two women with non-fatal gunshot wounds.
- Hours later four more women linked to the scene arrived at UofL Hospital, and Louisville Metro Police later updated their count to five women shot with one sustaining a head injury.
- Less than one mile away, Shively police answered a single-vehicle crash on the 3400 block of 7th Street Road in which two women died; officers reported no obvious gunshot wounds on the victims.
- Shively Police are leading the crash probe while LMPD’s Homicide, Non-Fatal Shooting and Traffic units are coordinating to see if evidence connects the incidents, and autopsy and forensic work remain pending.
- Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the anonymous LMPD tip line or submit a tip through the department’s online portal as investigators continue to piece together what happened.
