- New DVLA figures obtained via a Freedom of Information request report 1,231,744 licence holders with active speeding points in 2025, up about 20% since 2023.
- Around 157,000 motorists now have nine or more points, with 132,126 on nine, 9,682 on ten, and 4,810 on eleven.
- Men accounted for nearly 70% of speeding endorsements in 2025, and drivers aged 45 to 54 formed the largest group with 270,962 cases.
- Standard public road speeding offences coded SP30 made up most endorsements, with motorway speeding SP50 also common, including 17,566 cases in 2025.
- Courts can allow drivers to avoid disqualification for hardship, which has led to rare outliers such as a Flintshire man recorded with 229 points and more than 50 drivers with 30 or more.
