Ducati Debuts Second-Generation DesertX With New 890cc V2 and Monocoque Chassis

Overview

  • The 890cc Ducati V2 produces 110 hp and 92 Nm with 70% of peak torque available at 3,000 rpm, and it gets shorter first-to-fourth gears with a longer sixth for cruising.
  • A new monocoque frame uses the engine as a stressed member and integrates the airbox for quicker filter access, paired with fully adjustable KYB suspension offering 230 mm front and 220 mm rear travel.
  • Braking hardware upgrades include Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers and new 305 mm front discs, with a layout that accommodates a high front mudguard.
  • A 6-axis IMU manages cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, engine-brake control and a bi-directional quickshifter, displayed on a new 5-inch TFT with Road, Road Pro and Rally views plus dual USB ports.
  • Wet weight is a claimed 209 kg (without fuel) with a slimmer 18-litre tank set lower, revised ergonomics and an 880 mm seat height that can drop to 840 mm; European deliveries start in April 2026, India is confirmed for Q4 2026, and UK orders open at a £14,995 launch price until June 30.
