Dubai Touts Resilience as Spending Nears Prewar Levels and Flights Hold at 500 a Day

Officials present steady services with fresh investment pledges as proof the city remains open for business.

Overview

  • Hadi Badri, who leads Dubai’s Economic Development Corporation, said domestic spending is only a few percentage points below pre-conflict levels and that about 500 flights operate in and out each day, with Emirates at roughly two-thirds of its prior capacity.
  • He said core systems such as power, water, telecoms, and banking have not seen disruptions, and everyday services continue to run across the city.
  • Badri reported that several foreign investment deals are progressing and said he expects to sign some from the United States this quarter.
  • He said the UAE intercepted about 2,800 aerial threats with little physical damage, though the strikes shook confidence and disrupted travel and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Badri said roughly half a million Iranians in Dubai remain safe and active in the economy, noting long-standing trade links with Iran that officials say have faced new strains since the late-February attacks.
