- Dubai’s Government Human Resources Department has reintroduced the Our Flexible Summer programme with two schedule options that begin Monday, June 29 and run to September 10, 2026.
- Ajman issued a parallel circular that starts Monday, June 29 and runs to August 28, 2026, setting 7:30am–2:30pm Monday–Thursday and 7:30am–12:00pm on Fridays with shift rules for operational services.
- The federal Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy bans outdoor work under direct sunlight from 12:30pm to 3:00pm daily between June 15 and September 15, 2026 and carries fines of Dh5,000 per worker for violations.
- The RTA expanded temporary rest areas for delivery riders to 23 locations, an increase of eight sites from 2025, to reduce heat exposure for frontline couriers during peak hours.
- Business and recruitment leaders say private-sector uptake will be uneven and depend on industry needs, customer demands and firms’ ability to measure output rather than hours, while the programme builds on pilots in 2024 and wider rollouts in 2025.
