DTC Bus Marshal Arrested After Conductor’s Finger Bitten Off in Route Dispute

The arrest followed a medico-legal finding that the conductor’s finger was amputated.

  • Police say the quarrel on September 28 began over whether to take the Lajpat Nagar Ring Road flyover or a parallel road on the Noida Sector 62–Dhaula Kuan service.
  • Control-room logs show a 6:48 pm call from the marshal and a 7:46 pm call from the conductor, who was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre.
  • Doctors recorded an amputation of the left-hand middle finger from a human bite and classified the injury as grievous.
  • A case for voluntarily causing grievous hurt was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and bus marshal Man Singh was arrested, according to DCP Amit Goel.
  • DTC said the marshal has been repatriated to his parent cadre as disciplinary proceedings begin, and the conductor will receive support and light duty during recovery.
