Overview
- A blue Ford Mondeo left the road and struck parked cars before crashing into a house on Paston Ridings on 17 May, injuring the two elderly residents and severely damaging the property.
- Cambridgeshire Police have identified the man who died in hospital as 40-year-old Richard Woollard of Werrington and say he died about a week after the collision.
- The two occupants of the house, a man and a woman in their 70s, were taken to hospital; the man has since been discharged and the woman remains in a serious but stable condition.
- Police have launched Operation Perranwell and are appealing for anyone who saw the Mondeo before the crash or who has dashcam footage to report online or by calling 101, quoting the operation name.
- Richard Woollard’s family have issued a tribute and asked for privacy, and investigators say enquiries are ongoing as they seek to piece together the cause and sequence of the incident.
