Driver Killed, Family of Five Hospitalized After Head-On Crash on Route 3

State police say a preliminary probe found the northbound Camaro crossed the centerline and investigators are asking the public for information.

Overview

  • A head-on collision on Route 3 in Columbia occurred around 9 p.m. Friday when a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Camaro crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.
  • The Camaro's sole occupant, 25-year-old Courtney Diamond of Pelham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • The Silverado carried a family of five—two adults and three children—who were taken first to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with three suffering life-threatening injuries.
  • Multiple local agencies and good Samaritans assisted at the scene and Route 3 was closed for about three and a half hours while troopers conducted an on-scene investigation.
