Driver Dies in Head-On Crash on KY-34 in Boyle County as State Police Investigate

Investigators are reconstructing the collision to clarify why a Cadillac crossed the centerline.

The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. Friday on Lebanon Road (KY-34) near Alum Springs Road in Boyle County.
Kentucky State Police say preliminary evidence indicates a westbound Cadillac SRX crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound Toyota Highlander head-on.
The Cadillac driver, Frankie Simpson, 41, of Parksville, was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Boyle County coroner.
The Toyota driver, Aric Mlejnek, 44, of Nicholasville, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation with a collision reconstruction underway, and no determination of cause has been released.
