Overview
- A Chevrolet pickup crashed through a bay window on High Street near Holmes Street at about 6:22 p.m. Monday, rolled onto its side, and left the front of the home badly damaged, while no one inside was hurt.
- Firefighters found the sole occupant, a 57-year-old Hanson man, unconscious and used hydraulic rescue tools to free him.
- Medics took the driver to Brockton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and officials have not released his name.
- High Street remained closed into the night during an investigation by Hanson police, state police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney, and the State Police crash reconstruction unit.
- Investigators have not said what led to the crash, and police said they do not believe speed was a factor.
