Overview
- The truck rolled down a steep embankment at a tight bend on Slate Quarry Road about 8am Monday near Meredith, northwest of Geelong.
- Emergency services, including FRV technical rescue crews from Ballarat and Lucas, five CFA units, police and paramedics, responded and the driver could not be revived at the scene.
- Two horses were also killed, according to 7NEWS reporting.
- Crews later lifted the vehicle from the embankment as police assessed the wreckage on Monday afternoon.
- Victoria Police are investigating, WorkSafe Victoria has been notified, and authorities are seeking witnesses and any footage, with the road remaining closed.
