Overview
- The crash occurred on March 6, 2024 when a black car driving the wrong way on Cavenagh Road later sped along Bukit Timah Road, ran a red light at Sixth Avenue and collided with a school bus before hitting a lamp post and catching fire.
- The car’s driver and three passengers escaped and, together with two boys from the bus and the bus driver, were taken conscious to National University Hospital for treatment.
- Police investigations found the vehicle averaged at least 114 km/h on Bukit Timah Road and that the driver had consumed alcohol before driving.
- The 29-year-old, who has a 2019 conviction for drink-driving, was charged on Thursday, June 18, 2026 with five offences including drink driving, dangerous driving causing hurt, driving against the flow, failing to provide a breath specimen, and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position.
