Overview
- By Wednesday 13,189 runners had registered and organisers expect up to 15,000, with on-site sign-ups open through Saturday at the Dresdner BallsportArena.
- The three-day program runs Oct. 24–26, with the Sparkassen 5 km on Saturday at 4 p.m. on Rudolf-Harbig-Weg and the marathon and half-marathon starting Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on Pieschener Allee.
- Route tweaks reduce cobblestone sections, and provisioning has been scaled up with 1.8 tonnes of bananas, 1.5 tonnes of apples, 560 kg of melons and 240 kg of raisin bread.
- About 300 musicians plus DJs are scheduled along the course, and the AOK 10 km starts Sunday at 8:30 a.m., followed by children’s races in the afternoon.
- Race projections suggest the men’s marathon record is unlikely to fall, while the women’s half-marathon mark could be challenged by Blanka Dörfel.
