Dravid Receives BCCI’s Top Lifetime Award as Naman Awards Honor Binny, Mithali Raj

The Col. C. K. Nayudu honour is the BCCI’s top recognition for lifetime service to Indian cricket.

Overview

  • The BCCI Naman Awards were held on March 15 in New Delhi, where Rahul Dravid and Roger Binny received the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award and Mithali Raj was honoured with the women’s lifetime award.
  • Dravid called the recognition humbling and used his speech to thank mentors and the many unsung contributors who underpin Indian cricket’s growth.
  • Coverage highlighted Dravid’s 24,000-plus international runs and his coaching roles that delivered India’s Under-19 World Cup in 2018 and the men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
  • Mithali said India is now realising her long-held hope of global dominance across men’s, women’s and junior levels, and she credited BCCI support, including Jay Shah’s push for the women’s game.
  • Binny’s legacy cited at the ceremony included leading the 1983 World Cup wicket charts, the rare feat of opening both batting and bowling in an ODI, coaching India’s 2000 U-19 champions, and later work as a selector.
