Donut Lab Demonstrates 100 kW Fast-Charging Solid-State Pack in Verge Motorcycle Test

Independent verification of the boldest claims is still pending.

Overview

  • The 18 kWh air-cooled pack in a Verge TS Pro sustained more than 100 kW of charging power—about a 5C rate—for five minutes in a company-run test.
  • Starting near 20°C, the pack charged from 10% to 50% in roughly five minutes, hit 70% just over nine minutes, and reached 80% at about 12 minutes using a public high-power charger.
  • Donut Lab calls this its first public demonstration of multiple cells operating together in a real vehicle, with the pack integrated into an earlier-generation Verge motorcycle chassis.
  • Verge and Donut Lab say an extended-range version with roughly 30 kWh is planned, which Verge previously claimed could deliver up to about 370 miles on the TS Pro.
  • Previous independent cell-level reports from VTT showed fast-charge behavior and capacity retention at 100°C, but pack-level energy density, long-cycle performance, and manufacturability still lack third-party validation.
