Disney launched the Mandalorian- and Grogu-themed mission for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on May 22, 2026, across Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The update added selectable destinations such as Bespin, Coruscant and Death Star wreckage and expanded the Engineer role so those riders can directly interact with Grogu.
Posted standby waits this week averaged about 33 minutes and often fell to roughly 10 minutes, marking one of the attraction’s lowest weekly averages since it opened.
Early data show the overhaul and months of promotion did not produce a meaningful, sustained increase in demand compared with other headline rides like Rise of the Resistance.
Shorter lines make the new mission easy for guests to try but leave Disney with a test case on whether narrative changes can overcome the ride’s long-standing re-rideability and role-balance problems.
