Disneyland Unlocks Galaxy’s Edge Timeline for Original Trilogy Debut on April 29

The update ends the sequel-only setting by bringing back classic characters alongside film score cues.

Overview

  • Disneyland will begin a cross‑era version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on April 29, 2026, opening Batuu to stories from across the saga.
  • Iconic Original Trilogy figures will appear in the land, with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Imperial stormtroopers joining existing walk‑around characters.
  • Music from John Williams’ film scores will now play throughout the area, including the Main Title, the Force Theme, Cantina Band, and motifs tied to the classic films.
  • Several locations are being reworked to reflect a wider timeline, with First Order Cargo becoming Black Spire Surplus, Dok‑Ondar’s displays rotating to different artifacts, and Droid Depot shifting to an earlier Mubo family era.
  • Rey and the Resistance remain in the forested camp with Rise of the Resistance unchanged, some enhancements may appear before the official launch, and the rollout is limited to Disneyland in California with no announced date for Walt Disney World.
