Disneyland to Open Later on Aug. 2 for CHOC Walk Fundraiser

The early-morning charity walk inside both parks is expected to delay public admission to about 8:30 a.m. based on past practice.

Overview

  • Rady Children’s Health Orange County confirmed the 2026 CHOC Walk for Sunday, August 2, and opened registration, according to Wednesday reports.
  • Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are expected to open around 8:30 a.m. that day, with the resort yet to post official August hours.
  • Guests who show up for the usual 8 a.m. summer opening should expect to wait outside until public admission begins after the walk concludes.
  • Participants ages 3 and up must pay a $10 fee and raise at least $125, children 2 and under are free, and raising $400 earns a Park Hopper ticket for use after the event on August 2.
  • The three-mile fundraiser has run inside the resort since 1990, benefits the local pediatric health system now known as Rady Children’s Health Orange County, and traces its Disney ties to Walt Disney’s role on the hospital’s founding board.
