Disneyland Resort Extends Halloween Time With Elaborate Hotel Overlays

Hotel displays use large craft and edible showpieces to extend guest visits, increase time on property, drive seasonal dining and retail.

Overview

  • Halloween Time is active across the Disneyland Resort through October 31 and pairs park overlays, ticketed events, food and merchandise with new on‑site hotel activations.
  • The Disneyland Hotel features Haunted Mansion‑inspired elements, including a courtyard photo opportunity and the classic stretching portraits in the lobby for guest photos and walk‑through theming.
  • Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has a large Nightmare Before Christmas centerpiece built from fondant, marshmallows, chocolate and other sweets that resort teams say required more than 800 hours to craft.
  • The Grand Californian display includes characters such as Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie, the Mayor and Zero and is staged with nearby themed treats for guests to buy and photograph.
  • Resort teams including Resort Enhancement and Imagineering coordinated the hotel overlays to spread crowds across the property, encourage longer stays and increase seasonal food and retail spending.
