Overview
- This week crews began work to demolish four 700-square-foot ticket booths on the east side of the main esplanade as preparation for the pedestrian bridge project.
- Disney has previously announced the larger project will include about 6,000 parking spaces, dedicated shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening, extensive EV charging capacity, and vehicle access off Disney Way.
- After this demolition only two traditional esplanade ticket booths will remain and guests can still buy tickets in person at the Lost and Found booth.
- Company officials and planning records cite changes in guest flow, security needs and widespread mobile ticketing as reasons for removing the ground-level booths, following two west-side booths removed last year for a Downtown Disney development.
- Disney says multi-year construction for the hub and bridge is slated to start in fall 2026, but the company has not disclosed a full construction timetable or whether any removed architectural elements will be preserved or reused.
