Overview
- Disneyland Paris staged a one-night Bastille Day nighttime spectacular on Tuesday that featured more than 1,600 drones forming Disney and French imagery over Sleeping Beauty Castle in place of fireworks.
- Officials from the Seine-et-Marne prefecture had imposed temporary pyrotechnic restrictions for July 10–15 because of a regional heatwave and wildfire risk, forcing the show to omit all fireworks.
- The drone choreography was produced by Dronisos and was paired with castle projection mapping, synchronized lighting, searchlights, lasers, smoke effects, and an original soundtrack to preserve the show’s narrative beats.
- The production closed with the resort’s signature tricolor Mickey drone formation, echoing the 2024 record-setting display, and riders saw scenes drawn from Disney and Pixar titles such as Aladdin, Frozen, Brave, Mulan, and Peter Pan.
- The switch to large-scale drone and light effects reflects a broader shift in live entertainment during hot, fire-prone weather and builds on Disneyland Paris’s growing use of drones for major shows, with park operations remaining contingent on weather and official guidance.
