Disneyland Brings Park Experience to Anaheim Neighborhoods With ‘Happiest Day in Anaheim

A one-day program thanked local residents through surprise visits, tailored senior and school activities plus a neighborhood Main Street block party.

Overview

  • Disney VoluntEARS ran surprise treat stops across Anaheim during August and held the Happiest Day in Anaheim on Thursday, transforming community sites for seniors, students and families.
  • A morning event at the Ponderosa Family Resource Center welcomed more than 125 seniors for yoga led by Tenaya Stone Spa instructors, Disney Bingo, crafts and a visit from Goofy.
  • Disney organized a Disney‑inspired field day at Danbrook Elementary for about 400 students and provided complimentary two‑park tickets for each of the school’s 75 teachers and staff members.
  • The day ended with a Main Street on Your Street block party at Center Greens Park that drew roughly 3,000 residents for live performances, character meet‑and‑greets and park-style food and activities.
  • Disneyland said the program is part of its year‑round volunteer work and cash and in‑kind support to Orange County and donated event kits to four libraries and two additional senior communities so they can host their own celebrations.
