- Disney confirmed a list of 11 closures that will shape park operations in 2026, combining permanent removals with temporary refurbishments and timed reopenings through the summer.
- At Magic Kingdom, Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat have closed for good to clear space for Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed expansion.
- At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Launch Bay and much of Animation Courtyard are shut as the area is rebuilt as the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, with phased openings beginning May 26, 2026.
- Hollywood Studios is also retooling major attractions, with Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster closed for a Muppets retheme targeting summer 2026 and Muppets Courtyard closed to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land called Monstropolis.
