Disney+ Will Stream D23’s 'Horizons: A Carousel of Progress' Live From Anaheim

The stream turns Disney+ into a D23 hub by offering remote access to the parks showcase while linking the service to on-site activations and subscriber perks.

Overview

  • Disney will air Horizons: A Carousel of Progress live on Disney+ at 7:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 15 so viewers who are not in Anaheim can watch the Honda Center presentation in real time.
  • Neil Patrick Harris will host the conversational-format showcase alongside Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum and a named lineup of Imagineers that includes Bruce Vaughn, Ali Rubinstein, Michael Hundgen, Emily “Emo” O’Brien, Caroline May, Claire Weiss, Brent Strong, Chris Beatty, and Jason Grandt.
  • Disney says the presentation will focus on progress reports rather than entirely new mega-reveals, offering first looks, new artwork and renderings, behind-the-scenes stories, and evidence that many projects announced in 2024 have moved into design, engineering, or active construction.
  • Disney+ will stream several other D23 panels over the weekend and will tie the broadcasts to in-person Disney+ and Hulu activations—including a Hall A Disney+ Hulu Experience with a 4D theater, a mystery pin quest, exclusive merchandise, and a Disney+ Perks Treat Truck in Downtown Disney.
  • The move signals a strategic push to use Disney+ as a cross-platform gateway linking streaming, parks, cruise and resort updates and it gives global fans direct access to D23 content while in-person offerings remain limited and highly curated.
