Overview
- Walt Disney World will redirect vehicles onto the newly completed southbound lanes of Floridian Way beginning Monday, August 10, to open space for construction of the permanent northbound lanes.
- Crews have finished pavement, lane markings, and directional signs on the new southbound roadway and will use temporary connectors to keep guests able to reach the Grand Floridian, its Wedding Pavilion, and the Polynesian’s Island Tower.
- Two of the three planned roundabouts are already built and the remaining southernmost roundabout will be constructed near the Magic Kingdom parking area after the traffic shift.
- The multi‑phase World Drive North Phase III program continues through late 2027 and overlaps state I‑4 work, so drivers should follow posted signage, expect recurring lane changes, and allow extra travel time.
- The project is intended to improve long‑term traffic flow and resort access around Magic Kingdom, but guests should prepare for ongoing construction impacts and temporary route changes while work finishes.
