Disney Tightens Guest Transit: Wilderness Lodge Boats Halted April 13–May 1 as Anaheim’s ART Ends March 31

Guests should budget extra time as service shifts to buses in Florida, with a fee-based hotel shuttle covering select Anaheim properties.

Overview

  • Walt Disney World confirmed Wilderness Lodge dock maintenance from April 13 through late July 2026, with boat service suspended April 13–May 1.
  • During the suspension, boats will not run to Magic Kingdom, Fort Wilderness, or the Contemporary, and buses will serve Magic Kingdom in their place.
  • There is no direct bus between Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary, with Disney advising a bus to Magic Kingdom followed by a monorail transfer.
  • Boat service is expected to resume May 2, subject to change, following an earlier January 12–30 shutdown as part of the same project.
  • In Anaheim, the ART shuttle system will cease operations March 31, with a new Garden Grove service launching in late March for ten hotels, operated by Parking Company of America with a per-guest fee.
