Disney Temporarily Closes Pixar Place Hotel Rooftop Pool Area for September Refurbishment

Disney says noisy work will be limited to daylight hours to reduce disruption for arriving guests.

Overview

  • The rooftop Pixel Pool and spa closed for refurbishment beginning Sept. 8 and are scheduled to reopen Sept. 19, while Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and the Nemo and Friends splash pad remain closed through Sept. 25.
  • Disney is contacting guests before arrival to alert them to the temporary loss of water amenities and to encourage planning around the phased reopenings.
  • Pixar Place Hotel itself remains open, but families who chose the hotel for its Finding Nemo–themed pool deck will lose access to its most child-focused water features for part or all of their September stays.
  • Disney says it will restrict the noisiest work to daytime hours and notes that pool hours, slide operating times and lifeguard availability can change, so guests should confirm status shortly before check-in.
  • The closure notice shows legacy names on Disney’s site for some amenities, and the short-term work reflects routine seasonal refurbishing that often happens in September when resort crowds are lower.
