Disney Sets July 1, 2027 Opening for Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World

The date formalizes a new Disney Vacation Club waterfront resort whose staged October booking windows give members priority access to early stays.

Overview

  • On August 27, 2026, Disney confirmed that Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will open July 1, 2027 and that reservations will roll out in October 2026 with DVC members first on October 6, Annual Passholders on October 7, and the general public on October 8.
  • The Disney Vacation Club property will total 967 units across studios, one‑ and two‑bedroom villas, three‑bedroom Grand Villas and new waterfront one‑ and two‑bedroom Lake Houses located on Bay Lake.
  • Room designs are being themed to specific Disney animated films, with Duo Studios inspired by Encanto, deluxe studios and many villas drawing on Bambi, Grand Villas on Fantasia, resort rooms on Pocahontas, and the Lake Houses on Brother Bear.
  • Disney has detailed guest offerings that center the lake setting, including three dining venues, the fireworks‑facing Dandelion Terrace lounge, and The Wetlands recreation complex with a zero‑entry pool, spiral waterslide, Daydream River lazy river and children’s play areas.
  • The resort reclaims the former River Country footprint between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, a project first announced in 2018 that stalled during the pandemic and was revived and rebranded as Lakeshore Lodge in 2024; late‑August reports say a DVC “First Wave” member preview before the official opening is planned with bookings and point pricing reported by member outlets.
