Overview
- Walt Disney Imagineering posted a short behind-the-scenes video on Instagram that shows how the new blaster sounds were built for Magic Kingdom’s Space Ranger Spin.
- In the clip, sound editor Miguel says a struck toy slinky is one of five audio layers used to create the blaster’s “pew pew.”
- He explains the team tweaks the slinky in software and stacks other elements to make both the trigger sound and a brighter hit tone for target strikes.
- The attraction reopened earlier this month with handheld blasters and new ride vehicles that display live scores.
- The update also added an uncapped scoring system and a Buddy training scene, giving riders clearer feedback and more reasons to replay.
