Overview
- Walt Disney Imagineering published a first look on Tuesday, August 25, through its Pardon Our Pixie Dust series showing the atrium courtyard entrance for The Magic of Disney Animation.
- A new white banner reading “OPEN HOUSE” now hangs beneath the Walt Disney Animation Studios lettering and is flanked by character statues staged with paint props.
- The tableau features Mickey, Minnie, the Mad Hatter, Flounder, Moana and a Lost Boy nod to Robin Williams, arranged to suggest the characters painted and hung the sign themselves.
- The courtyard is patterned on the real Walt Disney Animation Studios lot and the Once Upon a Studio short, and reporters noted planter walls, staked young trees and “Wet Paint” signs as finishing touches while the attraction readies for its September 14 opening.
- The Magic of Disney Animation is the flagship element of the Walt Disney Studios Lot transformation that replaced Animation Courtyard and will house interconnected experiences including Drawn to Wonderland, Off the Page!, Olaf Draws! and the Once Upon a Studio Theater.
