- Fantasmic! remains the park’s main nighttime production and continues to play multiple times each night at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater.
- Disney is positioning the Chinese Theatre pair as alternatives to the first Fantasmic! performance to draw guests away from the amphitheater and reduce crowding in that area.
- The move comes as larger multi-element spectaculars that featured fireworks and fire effects have not returned since 2020, and as resort attendance this summer has been lower than expected.
