- Walt Disney World implemented the new system on Tuesday, September 1, switching from value-based rates to Ricoh Merchandise Shipping as the third-party provider.
- Guests now pick a pre-sized bag with a flat price — Extra Small $19.97, Small $29.97, Medium $44.97, Large $49.97 — instead of paying by merchandise value.
- The checkout process uses a QR-code to complete an online shipping and payment form, guests secure the bag with a provided zip-tie tag, and a Cast Member takes the tagged bag for Ricoh processing and tracking.
- Each bag includes up to $100 of insurance at no extra charge and guests can buy additional declared-value coverage with listed fees up to a $5,000 maximum.
- The service is available at Walt Disney World gift shops, select resort business centers, and a dedicated shipping station in Disney Springs, and early reports suggest receipts may not be required for items placed in the bags.
