Disney Renews Dragon Striker for Season 2

Anime Expo’s first look signals a tonal escalation toward darker personal and mythic stakes with the principal cast and composer Kevin Penkin returning.

Overview

  • Disney announced at Anime Expo on July 2 that Dragon Striker will return for a second season slated for early 2027 on Disney XD and Disney+.
  • The official season synopsis frames a darker arc in which the Knights confront broken friendships, buried secrets and an ancient evil as they push toward the Banner’s Helm final.
  • Principal voice actors Akshay Kumar, Rebecca LaChance, Yeukayi Ushe, Waylon Jacobs and Evanna Lynch are reported to reprise their roles for the new season.
  • Composer Kevin Penkin is reported to return, continuing the show’s orchestral sound that was recorded in Japan with an 80-piece orchestra and will include new opening and ending themes.
  • Produced by La Chouette Compagnie with Disney Television Animation, the series premiered its 11-episode first season in June on Disney XD and streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, a launch Disney plans to build on with broader distribution and promotion for season 2.
