Disney Plans 13‑Month Refurbishment of Coronado Springs Convention Center

Phased overnight work aims to preserve daytime operations during a yearlong convention center overhaul.

Overview

  • Disney confirmed the project will run from August 10, 2026 through late September 2027 and will be carried out in phases to limit full closures.
  • The work covers the Convention Center, the El Centro Corridor and surrounding spaces, including the Coronado and Fiesta ballrooms, the Veracruz exhibition hall and dozens of breakout rooms.
  • Disney says crews will perform much of the work overnight so the resort can remain open and most pools and restaurants should stay available, but guests may still see or hear construction.
  • Event planners say the absence of a published room‑by‑room phasing schedule is creating uncertainty because individual meeting spaces may be temporarily unavailable and some attendees or groups may need to reschedule or relocate.
  • The refurbishment could shift demand to other on‑site and local hotels and affect business travel and convention bookings in Central Florida, so planners and guests should watch for Disney to release detailed phasing dates and finished design information.
