- Disney announced on June 18, 2026 that it has acquired the first authorized animated adaptation of the Warrior Cats books for Disney+ and Disney Channel, with production under way and a 2028 premiere planned.
- The series will adapt the opening arc Warrior Cats: The Prophecies Begin with A.C. Bradley as showrunner and Rodrigo Blaas directing alongside animation partners Original Force and El Guiri Studios.
- Tencent Video remains a confirmed regional partner and will carry the show in China and Southeast Asia as part of the existing Coolabi-Tencent development arrangement.
- Coolabi has already begun global brand rollout with toys and licensing, and Disney and Coolabi point to the franchise’s large reach—more than 90 million books sold, heavy YouTube and TikTok engagement, and hundreds of millions of plays of a fan-made Roblox game—as the business case for the series.
