Disney Jr. Expands Ready for Preschool With Megan and Cupcake Series

Short YouTube previews will build audience interest before a fall launch on Disney+ plus linear Disney Jr.

Overview

  • A new series, Megan and Cupcake Ready for Preschool, is in production and is scheduled to debut on Disney Jr. and stream on Disney+ this fall.
  • A set of 10 one-minute live-action preview shorts, which began rolling out on August 13, introduces viewers to the show’s WOW Workshop setting.
  • The project is a hybrid of live-action puppetry and existing animated Ready for Preschool shorts that pairs hands-on play, simple learning concepts and musical moments.
  • Megan (Piphus) Baptist stars as host and puppeteer with a new sidekick, Cupcake, and the series was developed by Jason Hopley and Brian Clark with Riverstreet Productions producing.
  • The expansion builds on Ready for Preschool’s short-form success since 2019—more than 150 million YouTube views—and signals Disney Jr.’s strategy of using talent-led short clips to drive interest across platforms.
